Riverwood Begins

Regional Artists selected for HotBox Riverwood HotBox provides artistic opportunities for artists and organizations within the 905 area. The HotBox Riverwood mentorship project contributes to the development of professional artists with the creation of a temporary outdoor art exhibit that celebrates the Riverwood conservation area and public art in Mississauga. The public will have the opportunity to walk the trail within the natural setting of Riverwood Park and experience the works of art along its path. This initiative is a precedent setting event for the city of Mississauga. The regional artists include; Amanda-Oppeddisano, Don Ian Dickson, Mark Prier, Roch Smith, Simon Black, Tom Dietrich and Yan Xiaojing

These artist have been selected to create natural site specific, temporary works within Riverwood Park. The selected artists will be mentored by Reinhard Reitzenstein, an international artist and director of the University of Buffalo’s sculpture department. The HotBox Riverwood project is supported by The Riverwood Conservancy and will be located at Riverwood Park. Riverwood is located in central Mississauga and nestled along the banks of the historic Credit River. The 60-hectare (150-acre) Riverwood property is a special place where history, nature, beauty and peace blend together to create an enjoyable and memorable outdoor experience.
